I was going to begin to maybe start mapping a little, so I was wondering.

The lore talks about multiple domes, so I was wondering what the basic envisioned layout of the station would be.

Also, do you plan on keeping most of the jobs as alt-titles, or later expanding them into their own job slots?

Is that design going to have subs travel between them?

No, there are gonna be some sort of physical corridor linking between them.

The main dome layout is mostly finished though. It's built around the little arrivals room that was originally there. 4 corridors lead out like spokes 10 tiles from that room, to the "Inner Ring", leaving 4 compartments between the room and the inner ring, and then those corridors lead out another 20 tiles from the inner ring to the "Outer Ring", leaving 4 large "sectors" between the inner ring and outer ring. I'm currently working on a kind of little urban slum in the "Residential Quarter" which is the SW sector. Will try to get a diagram illustrating what I mean.

EDIT: Alternatively the passages could be underground, depending on whether or not this is going to be multi-z or not.

Okay, it's important that we coordinate, because WrongEnd on IRC is working on a map already and this is the first I've seen of yours - we're going to end up with conflicts if we aren't careful.

I would prefer IRC as a discussion venue if it can be managed.

The current EXTREMELY ROUGH map idea that we're working towards is:

The belts between domes are piping and a tram track of some sort, still deciding how that's going to work.

I actually like that one better than my map.

Just a thought for atmospherics, instead of all air coming from a tank, why not have machinery that can extract oxygen from the surrounding waters and then pumps it into the dome, it makes more sense then a infinite tank of air just being kept on hand as it'd need refilling quite a lot. Provides a few opportunities for sabotage too.

Skrell have actual gills in this code, wouldn't be hard to add a robotic version that can be installed surgically.
