ANTAGONIST IDEAS
- Bizarre psychic brain coral structures clustering around thermal vents (yes Europa has thermal vents shut up blame gravitational flexing for volcanism).
- Schools of ravenous introduced fish species deformed into killers by Europa's dark tide.
- Renegades intent on sabotaging the project to stop the insidious influence of whatever lurks in Europa's planetary ocean.
- Gun runners, smugglers, identity thieves, anyone using Europa as a hiding place.
- Mutated cannibal colonists from one of the dark domes.

EVENT IDEAS
- A 'dark tide' that replaces radiation storms. Causes hallucinations and sickness in the crew, disrupts communications, turns the ocean pitch black.
- Schools of ravenous fish migrating past the station.

Been thinking a lot about flora and fauna for the area around the station - I'd like to randomly generate it and give it some rudimentary AI, so you get little flocks of glowing sea slugs chilling out around a thermal vent for the Scientists to corral.

First those things look soooo cute. and secoundly... if we have friendly foral and fauna around the station what will be the risk/reward for venturing into the deep abyss? I know people will do it anyway, but what is there to gain if one risks becoming fish chow

PRESSURE DEVIATION
-Small change in ocean pressure due to tectonic forces, travelling in a wave. Bends and warps the superstructure of the dome, causing windows to bust and shatter. Hard to detect with sensors.

PRESSURE WAVE
-Moderate change in ocean pressure due to sustained tectonic activity, travelling in a wave. Bends and warps the station structure to the point of buckling the walls, causing the plating to pop off. (Becomes a wall girder). Sensors are able to detect the wave a few minutes before it hits. (Walls buckling play that creaking sound)

MAJOR PRESSURE DISTURBANCE
-Large change in ocean pressure, travelling in multiple waves. Has a devestating effect on the superstructure of the dome, causing whole sections of wall to buckle and collapse. Like the moderate wave, but with much more damage and in multiple waves. Standard protocol when a MPD is detected is to raise the alert and move everyone towards the center of the dome. Sensors can detect an MPD coming anywhere from 15 minutes to hours in advance. (Could also double as a game mode, where everyone has to prepare for a massive MPD to arrive a couple hours in). Can also pop floor tiles off and damage electrical wiring and bust pipes.

It'd be cool to have a thirst meter since we'll be having water, and then add a particular area to the station like a filtering facility which filters ocean water into healthy and fresh water to the station (you can drink from placed water fountains around the station, much like how vending machines or newscasters are conveniently placed around the station. I'd be willing to sprite the water fountains but admin opinion first.) and then maybe the filtering station can be e-magged or tampered with to taint the water. Could also include vending machines that dispense bottled water but in limited quantities.

I think a hunger/thirst bar having more importance (eventual death from a lack of both) would add more depth and tension to the game, especially with factions. It makes certain facilities more valuable, and so factions will likely want to control said facilities more.

Are there any plans for aquaculture yet? I think it would be cool and thematically relevant (especially with the 20,000 leagues under the sea vibe). You could keep edible fish or other sea creatures in tanks for hydroponics to harvest when they've fully grown. If you wanted you could even have a little farm outside the dome where botanists in diving suits could grow and harvest kelp, or forage from among the coral reefs or hydrothermal vents. It could be more lucrative than simply using the hydroponics trays within the dome, and would be offset by the dangers of venturing into the deep. It might be interesting if you could hunt or harvest the randomly generated sea life, but then would have to take it to science to check if it was safe for human consumption. Also a science-craftable harpoon gun would be neato.

I was hoping aquaculture could be a thing, yeah, if only because it will allow us to randomly generate interesting natural maps at roundstart.
